Passed suddenly in his 78th year on Tuesday, August 14th, 2018. Beloved husband of Judy (Connell) and loving father to Kevin (Jane) Smith and Suzanne (Jamie) Wessel. Adored grandfather to Hayley (Alex), Jordan, Jacob (Katrina), Joe (Kahlan) and Faith (predeceased). Brother-in-law to Lois (Ron) Richards and Blair (Edith) Connell. Doug was a longtime employee of General Bakeries/Westons and Laidlaw/First Student. Doug was known for his sense of humour, his love of coaching football and baseball, but most importantly his love for his family. Sincere thanks to Dr. T. Lobsinger and Dr. J. MacFadyen. At Doug's request, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
